VALASSY INSTITUTE OF COSMETOLOGY
Admissions Requirements
Valassy Institute of Cosmetology admits students without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, financial status, or ethnic origin.
Applicants must be beyond the age of compulsory high school attendance as required by Mississippi law, complete the admissions process, and participate in financial counseling prior to enrollment.
To apply for admissions prospective students must provide:
✔ Proof of education: a copy of a high school diploma, GED certificate, or transcript showing high school completion.
✔ Foreign diplomas are accepted only if translated and verified by a third-party agency as equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma.
✔ Proof of identity: a valid driver's license, state-issued photo ID, or passport.
✔ Social Security card.
✔ A non-refundable Registration/Application Fee of $175 due at the time of enrollment. This fee is not included in the cost of tuition.
All applicants must review the catalog and sign the enrollment agreement before starting classes.
Payment of the registration/application fee does not guarantee a seat. Admission is based on space availability and completion of all required documents and steps.
Transfer Students / Closed Schools
Students who wish to transfer to Valassy Institute of Cosmetology from another licensed cosmetology school must meet the following requirements:
✔ Submit, prior to enrollment, a certified transcript of hours earned and requirements previously completed at the prior institution.
✔ Complete standard admissions requirements and financial counseling as outlined in the Admissions Policy.
Transfer students will be charged $15.00 per hour for each hour of instruction needed, plus the non-refundable Application/Registration Fee.
If a kit or books are required, additional costs will apply.
Transfer and re-entry students must complete a minimum of 25% of the total program hours at Valassy Institute of Cosmetology.
Under mitigating circumstances, Valassy Institute of Cosmetology reserves the right to make acceptances on a case-by-case basis.
