CE Classes

Continuing Education (CE) classes for the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering primarily apply to license holders seeking Master status upgrades or those holding Instructor licenses. [1, 2]

• Instructors: Must complete 24 hours of board-approved CE every two years to renew.

• Master License Holders: Must complete 8 hours of board-approved CE per two-year renewal cycle.

• Standard Practitioners: No CE is required to simply renew standard cosmetologist, esthetician, or nail technician licenses, but 16 hours of CE are required if you want to upgrade a standard practitioner license to a Master license.
